DOWEL, Kristy Anne (Kiddo)

07.02.1983 - 23.02.2026.  

With broken hearts, we announce the sudden death of our beloved daughter, Kristy (Kiddo) Dowel, aged 43, on Monday, February 23, 2026 at the Victorian Heart Hospital, Clayton.  

Kiddo, cherished eldest daughter of Garry and Gail Dowel, loving sister of Tracey and Jac,

and much loved sister-in-law to Daniel and Aaron.

She was a proud and devoted aunty to Rhianna, Shelby, and Kendra.

 

Affectionately known as “Kookaburra”  by her dearly loved partner Scott,

Kristy was the adored Mumma of Ellie (17) and Torah (15).

Her girls have lost an irreplaceable link in their family chain, a love that can never be replaced.

 

Treasured granddaughter of Trevor (dec) and Jean Dowel, Ron Eaton (dec), and Cherie Knight.

 

Kristy was a bright light in all our lives and in the lives of all who knew and loved her.

Her friendship circle reached far and wide - her kindness, laughter,

and beautiful spirit will remain with all of us - always!  

 

To the many children Kristy supported in her working life, she was a daily anchor,

a mother figure, an encourager, a safe place, and a true friend.

Children waited for her at the school gate each day, and they too will feel her loss deeply.  

 

Scott’s respected family - Robert and Gail Bernau (dec), Scott’s sister Davina and Nic Andre, and their children Alita and Zarah - are deeply saddened and will hold Kristy close in their hearts.

 

Heartache will be felt by aunties, uncles, cousins and extended families.  

 

Kiddo, you will remain in our broken hearts and will always stay loved and remembered.
