Nielsen Funerals offer a wide range of coffins and caskets designed to suit all tastes and budgets.

 

Coffins and caskets vary in many different ways including their shape, construction, material and design, colour and handles.

 

The main difference between a coffin and a casket is the shape.

 

A coffin has tapered ends, coffins are wider at the shoulder and narrow to the feet. A coffin lid is detachable.

Coffins are constructed from veneered particle board as well as a wide range of solid timber.

 

A casket is rectangle in shape and features a hinged lid.

Caskets are constructed from a wide range of solid timbers and metal.

 

Personalised coffin choices are also available and can be finished in any colour or with any images of your choice.

 

All coffins and caskets in our selection are made in Melbourne

(with the exception of the American made Batesville caskets).
