Because every funeral is uniquely different, generally so too are the funeral costs.
Many factors will affect the total cost of a funeral, such as the type of service, selection of coffin, and whether it is a burial or a cremation (cremation is generally less expensive than burial).
Nielsen Funerals can supply you with a total estimate of costs following the arrangement meeting, once we have a better understanding of your wishes and requirements.
Funerals can be tailored to suit a wide range of tastes and budgets and if you would like a general quotation please contact us at any time.
Nielsen Funerals will advise you of, and where possible apply for, any funeral benefits or bereavement payments you may be entitled to through Centrelink, Veterans' Affairs, the TAC and VOC.
Nielsen Funerals do not ask for any deposit up front.
A fully itemised funeral invoice is posted following the funeral service.
We endeavour to keep our costs rasona
The funeral invoice is made up of three key components:
The Professional Service Fee
Nielsen Funerals Professional Service Fee covers
Professional Service Fees can vary greatly between different funeral directors, at Nielsen Funerals we know that while we provide the highest level of service and best facilities our professional service fee is significantly less than any other funeral director in the immediate area.
The choice of Coffin or Casket
The cost of the coffin will depend on the material which it is made from
Disbursements
Disbursements are the payments made to others by Nielsen Funerals on behalf of the family on or before the day of the funeral service, these usually include the Cemetery/Cremation fee, offering to the Clergy/Celebrant, Church/Venue hire fees, newspaper notices, flowers, service booklets, catering, etc.
It is important to know that (unlike some funeral directors) Nielsen Funerals do not add any additional costs on top of these.
